Emotional Intelligence
We are what we are seen through our actions, emotions affect our actions and the emotions are from a sitmulus. Learning how to control the out come of what to do and how to move forward positivly is important because it keeps people more comfortable and relaxed because nothing that's not expected is happening. A outrage can surpise people in different ways and they will react in ways that might not be best to carry on their tasks. Controling one's self also keeps the outcome in one's own hands, everything is in one's own control. I personally never blame anyone for my problems because once I blame that person I lose the control to change the situation so by keeping it on myself no matter what it is. To have the control and not be blinded by emotions and act on the emotions but instead of using them as a guide kind of like bumpers in bowling some people use them a part of the game, some use them to occasionaly catch themselves and others view as if there not even there. The key is to know their there but not use them because that's not the best way to play the game. Much like bowling, emotions can be a game or a dance even we all go though a ballet of emotions. Knowing but not acting on emotions keeps things in a more managable manner that keeps the leader in complete control even under stress.

Service Learning Hours Plan
1. Spending time helping out with the church here and at home, helping out sunday school teachers and various activites to meet and ineract with people helping them learn, grow and be comforted.
2. Helping out with Ryan's Run for SIDS foundation in Billings when I go home that weekend.
3. Assitant coaching my cousins soccer team and possibly during spring break helping out with quaterback "football" mini camps at home.
4. Stopping by the hospital to deliver the morning mail during weekends that I am home and spring break.
Basically I want to interact with people little and big, yound and old for my service learning because going to be in the medical field clinical side I will depend on people for a job. And getting to know and more acustomed to different situations, different people with different backgrounds can make me relate more to all demographics so as I can in a sense train to have a great bedside manner.

Self-awareness
The idea that I'm wrong about who I think I am struck me off guard. I mean I am the only person that has been around me twenty four seven since day one. Sure some aspects I bet Im a little biased on and not entirely right but I esstienly know who I am and my strengths. Keep others imput is good but for me it just reenforced my previous thoughts on what I thought of myself. So I think it might be better for others to point out miscues so we can build and work from those to become stronger but I think we have a general idea of what our strengths are and not just what were good at. Being a good leader though knowning your strengths is important though because of through your strengths we do action and our actions influences others so leaders must be aware as of what they do and what they affect, knowing reprocussion that might come from said actions. However just because one failed at these processes the first time and set strengths that are better suited for other things that what they are presented. I don't think a person should just turn down a oppertunity because it doesn't fit them. Well I think it might not fit them right now, people change so do our strengths, wrinkles come with time and so does wisdom. Things if its the right situation just happen and grow so I don't think its proper to turn down a oppertunity cause you know you don't belong there because what if you know you don't belong there and it's not in your skill set of strengths but it is your passion? Then I say follow the passion and build the strengths.

Bill George Authentic
Being ethical and moraly sound and true to who one is, is important when leading. This reading supported that. Build that foundation of leadership within one's self to become comfortable with who they are and stop trying to be someone that there not. Soly focusing on themselves but in such a way that contributes to others success.
Heart, Support, Values, Self-discipline, Relationships are not only important in making an authenic leader but also being a authenic person. Holding true to oneself, known the limits of our abilities but always constantly pushing them. Using the bend but don't break method. Making desicions that are not only are profitable to one self but to others as well and sometimes of having to be selfless. It's a fine line walking of exerting force but not to much force to lead on. Leaders need to have values that is clear and is shown not only in when they lead but all the time with who they are. Leading beings damned up within one self and then as it builds up it over flows out and on to everyone else.

5. Success completing something that all can take pride in
Everyday I go to work I know someone ask me something that I don't have to do, that may not even be a part of my job. But because I am dependable and always provide great quality in short time. I always said yes and managers liked the fact that they could tell me to do something and I will do it as good or better than anyone else. Builds up a good repoure for myself and makes me feel acomplished for doing something and not expecting extras but still recieving them. Growing up I always heard "If your going to do it, do it better than everyone, in half the time of everyone."

Elemental Style
Learning the basic general habits of people gave me a better understanding of what to expect from those groups of people. It also showed me how to make a effective group that is well balanced. Not only that it showed that it was vital to have that balance because like anything else to much of one thing can turn out to be bad.
There were four different styles air, earth, fire, and water. The styles fit the name they were give as air was a quick type, earth was stoic and physical, water emotional and fluid, and fire energetic and passionate. Learning how to respond to each one of these effective is crucial in leading a diverse range of people. It was also shown to me that the group must not only be balanced but the leader themself must be balanced. Not just leading with their own style in which they are comfortable with but with what will be most effective for each individual within the group.

Chp 1 & 2
Leadership is a skill. A skill can always be trained to make better. Sure natural talent helps give others a edge with that skill. But if one puts in the time, effort and dedication to become better in that skill then they can close that gap. "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard". Anyone of us can be a leader as long as we establish who we are and our own goals first. Leading is much more effective when done by example. Saying something can go in one ear and out the other but doing, that image sticks a little bit longer. Doing takes effort, a effort that can be reinforced with words. But not done with words alone. Leaders have the ability to bring people together to make everyone's dreams a possibility not just their own. Leaders in a way look out for the greater good of their group. The book says that leading is within us and the book is the way to bring it out and enhance our skills. When it comes to a group I think of a leader as a tool, a very important tool, to be used by the others within the group to effectively get the job done. Positivity and encouragement while thriving for others instead of off others are key traits to motivate others around the leader. A leader must instill faith in others so that they can act on their own and become a leader for themselves. When everyone is being a effective leader of themselves then efficiency and productivity can be increased.
